The 2012 general election which President Mahama emerged winner saw many
Ghanaian celebrities campaigning for the liberal democratic and liberal
conservative party, New Patriotic Party.
Gospel musician Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong who worked in an organized and
active way towards the goals of NPP to canvas votes for the party has
disclosed that he did not demand any amount as a price for his service
rendered.
The award-winning musician speaking to DJ Roar on Kessben FM in Kumasi
said he joined the campaign train of the opposition party due to their
policies.
According to Great Ampong, the death of his father stopped him from
attending Senior High School so he accepted to support NPP flag bearer,
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo due to his free senior high school policy.
When asked if he will continue to campaign for NPP during this year’s
general election, the “Akokofunu” singer answered that he has not
regretted campaigning for NPP but he will help in spreading the message
of any party whose policy will help Ghana and his children.
He further added that he is not a card bearing member of any political party so he is free to campaign for any party.
